Hopeless crush

V spent almost the whole of the last weekend completely oblivious to anything happening around her at home. She had buried herself in Half of a Yellow Sun, by the Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie. By the wife’s own admission, the last time

she did something like this  – finished a book cover-to-cover without doing anything else –  was many years ago, but the more interesting part is what else was competing for her attention at the time –  it was the weekend of A1/A2 ‘s semester exam fortnight, and the dire challenges of Chemistry on Monday, History/Civics on Tuesday, and horror of horrors, Math AND Bio on Wednesday, loomed ahead.

So there’s been a fair amount of conversation around the book, which led me to discover this fantastic talk  by the author.

Already developing a massive crush on her. And I haven’t even started on the book. Being an atheist, can’t rely on folks like bhagwan to do the bachaye bit. Kya kare?
